Head of School Search
Head of School Jacob A. Dresden has announced his retirement from Concord Academy, effective June 2009, when he will have completed his ninth year of service to the school.
“It has been my honor to serve Concord Academy and to lead its growth and development,” Dresden said. “The school is very strong, comprised of talented students and brilliant faculty and staff. This gives me confidence that CA is poised to attract and welcome its next head of school, and satisfaction that I have done my job well. I look forward to continuing my responsibilities next year as Concord Academy transitions to a new leader.”
On October 24, 2008, Concord Academy's Board of Trustees named Richard G. (Rick) Hardy the school's tenth head of school. Hardy will begin his tenure on July 1, 2009.
The seven-month search process was facilitated by the Boston-based firm of Isaacson, Miller and overseen by a twelve-person Search Committee, appointed by the Board of Trustees and chaired by trustees Peter Blacklow ’87 and Mary Malhotra ’78, which included representation from trustees, faculty, staff, alumnae/i, and parents.
